Training on Mount Democrat and Mount Cameron, Colorado

TSP climbed two 14,000 mountains near the famous Alma, Colorado (the town with the highest elevation in the USA). They trekked the two mountains in one go, reaching the summits of Mt. Democrat and Mt. Cameron before sunset.

One day prior, in Fort Collins, they practiced tandem cycling with Dan in order to prepare for their Great Wall of China challenge in China (Nov 2017). They will run, kayak and cycle for 100km along unrestored sections of the Great Wall as a part of thier goal to help Dan make history on 7 Continents in 7 Years.

April 2017

Training in Colorado
Pike’s Peak

The team climbed up to the summit of Pike’s Peak, one of Colorado’s 14,000+ mountains, in order to practice guiding Dan in preparation for their history-making climb up Mount Kilimanjaro.

After the climb, the team attended the The Adventure Travel Film Festival, hosted by our sponsor, Intrepid Travel.

June 2016
Training in Portland, Oregon

The team did a series of hikes in the Cascades mountain range in preparation for their historic attempt to climb Mount Kilimanjaro. Traversing rivers and overcoming rough terrain wasn’t easy for anyone, let alone an athlete who is blind. This experience enabled them to practice various guiding techniques.
