Dan Berlin is an entrepreneur, investor, philanthropist, and endurance athlete who happens to be blind. As President and Co-Founder of Team See Possibilities, he is dedicated to expanding opportunity, building supportive networks, and inspiring confidence in young people with vision loss.
Diagnosed at age seven with cone-rod dystrophy, Dan gradually lost his eyesight and became legally blind in his late twenties. He spent more than a decade working for major multinational corporations before co-founding Rodelle, a world-leading vanilla extract company. Under his leadership, Rodelle grew into a global brand and was acquired by Archer-Daniels-Midland in 2018, after which Dan exited the company as CEO at age 48.
Alongside his business career, Dan discovered a passion for endurance sports. What began with a single marathon has grown into a remarkable athletic journey: he has completed more than twelve marathons including New York City and Boston; finished multiple triathlons including the Boulder Ironman; and become one of the first blind athletes to complete epic endurance challenges such as running across the Grand Canyon and back, running the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu in under 13 hours, and climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro in just two and a half days. He also co-founded Team Sea to See, a team of four blind cyclists who completed the 2018 Race Across America on tandem bicycles.
Dan serves on the board of the TAD Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing professional opportunities for people who are blind or have low vision.
Across all of his work, Dan is driven by a passion for finding and elevating ability in himself and in others. He believes deeply in creating opportunity and giving back around the world.
