24-Hour Cycling World

TimeTrial in Borego

Springs

-
95 Cyclists from all over the world were in Borrego Springs, CA  to compete in the World 24-Hour Time Trial Championships on November 3rd, 2023. The race was contested by repeating laps of an 18-mile course through the desert and ending with a 5-mile loop, trying to accumulate as many miles as possible within 24 hours.  Dan and Charles were racing for Team See Possibilities and had a fantastic race. They were very disciplined with their speed and took much-needed breaks that propelled them through the 24 hours.

Sheila, an amazing member of the crew, and Dan’s wife had the following to say about how the athletes plan their breaks through the race.

"Strategy is everything - we saw how seriously Chris, Tina, and Roberta took to this race and how they approached their timing and the transitions. 24 hours is no joke but Daniel Berlin and Charles Scott took this race as an opportunity to stay in shape, get together, and do some good for Team See Possibilities. They came into the tent at every lap, got food, a nap, massage, physical therapy exercises & some rest.”

The most important part of the race is having a good crew.  And our team had an  amazing crew!  Sheila, Paola, Paul, Steve, and Brett!

Thank you for your awesome work keeping the athletes riding all day and night and all weekend for that matter.
The team was making the most of a long cold night.

They were the envy of the support crew tent city. Thanks to a little propane heater and a s’mores run.
